Making a distinction between jeweler and goldsmith.
Anyone who sells jewelry can claim to be a jeweler, however not everyone can claim to be a master goldsmith. It takes special skills to become a goldsmith.
Randy Kelley owner of O.K. Pawn and Jewelry, Inc. has the credentials to claim he is a master jeweler, goldsmith and appraiser.
In 1980, Randy graduated from Bowman Technical School and received his diploma in Jewelry Repairing and Stone Setting. He has continued to
broaden his education by taking ongoing courses with Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and is a Graduated Gemologist of GIA.
His talents include but are not limited to:
expertise does not end at the jeweler's bench, he has also mastered the
technique of laser welding.
Randy traveled to Rhode Island and attended the LaserStar Technology Institute where he learned the art of laser welding. This unique technology allows the repair of items once deemed irreparable, such as; eyeglasses, candelabra's, sterling silver, keepsakes, platinum, and more. The list is virtually endless.
O.K. Pawn and Jewelry, Inc. was the first jewelry store in the area to obtain the state of the art technology and offers repairs using LaserStar equipment to the community as well as local area businesses.
